History

Formed in 1900, Desjardins is now the largest cooperative financial group in Canada.  As for the caisse populaires Rideau d’Ottawa and Vision, they are the result of mergers that took place in May 2003 and December 2002, respectively. Some of the caisses that underwent those mergers were introduced into the Ottawa region as long ago as 1912.

The Caisses populaires Desjardins use the strength of cooperation not just for obtaining a broad range of banking services for their members, but also for contributing to the economic and social development of their community.
